Hi, so I have some questions and some may come off as shallow ( u__u ) I'm sorry :c

1. Can you wear makeup in college?

I like to wear makeup and not "natural" makeup (sometimes, though)... I mean, winged eyeliner. Does that fly or are they just as strong about makeup + physical appearances in college as they are in high school :(

2. Do you have to wear a uniform?

Not that I mind... but I kind of do lol

3. Can you shave your legs?

IM SORRY IF THIS IS AN INSULTING QUESTIONS... When I was in the PH, i just noticed that most girls didn't and I was wondering if it's required/enforced.

4. How annoying is driving?

Like, in terms of parking, traffic, etc...

5. Can I survive on bisaya-english in Davao ;____;

I need so know bc I need to buy food + water :'C

6. How easy is it to make friends .___.

I know I come off like a bitch online, but I'm like the nicest bitch in person ;___; But I also don't want to get taken advantage off and tbh, I'm traumatized bc everytime I went to the PH as a kid, the other kids would make fun of me or not even talk to me. They knew I was a "foreigner" which is 50/50

7. If you buy a car, how do you make payments?

My mom says I have to go in the dealership and physically pay it there .____. sighs

8. Do you get roommates in college? Does college provide dorms? Should I get a roommate?

I need a friend .____.

9. Are you required to go to church?

I don't mind, but like... I mind.

10. What's your schedules like?

I know, for a lot of colleges, they plan out your curriculum. Is it 9am- certain time?

11. In Davao, is there a curfew? :/

If there is, then sad times... Sighs

12. What's the best cellphone network?

Like, is Globe good now bc when I had it for a while in 2011, it was booty.

13. Are cellphones cheaper in the PH vs the US?

I don't know if I want to get another iphone or a samsung but I want a good one, not one that lowkey lags :<

14. Do college students typically HAVE cars?

Or is that an American thing

I feel like I'm going to be sad for an entire week or two bc its going to sink in that I can't just drive 1 hr and be at home with my family and nugget and jolli and bubbles...

-yes you can hun except if ur gonna take up nursing then they're pretty strict with the hair color but not really with the make up :)

Depends on the college or university, some universities like la salle and ateneo doesn't require a uniform but all the other universities does require one

Yes you can ;)

if your gonna be in manila then traffic is super bad most of the time, but in provinces like cebu and davao then i guess its pretty okay

yessss as long as u speak english then your okay anywhere here in the philippines :)

Mostly at the bank personally or thru credit card

College dorms aren't really a thing here as far as i know but u can find dorms outside the campus and have roomates

nope just go whenever u want too

Depends on your curriculum but mostly it starts as early as 7am and just ends depends on your subjects for the day

10pm if your a minor :)

Yes globe is pretty good

Its kinda expensive here but its probably the same if ur gonne get one in the us that you can use here, one with the simcard thingy

Depends if u want too but i dont use my car in manila because of the traffic, but if ur gonna be in davao then i think its okay, but if u dont mind riding the jeepney ;)

From a pov of someone who's studying in Manila:

1. Can you wear makeup in college?

Yeah, no one would actually really care as long as you look presentable and not over the top. Over the top like super heavy make up.

2. Do you have to wear a uniform?

Depends on what school.

3. Can you shave your legs?

Again, this isn't really an issue. No one would be bothered if you shaved or not.

4. How annoying is driving?

Here in Manila you have to wake up super early for you to avoid traffic + get a good parking spot. You can avoid that if you pay for a parking spot somewhere near your school but that would cost too much.

5. Can I survive on bisaya-english in Davao ;____;

I'm not sure about this since I'm not from Davao but I have friends from there and they can converse with me through english and tagalog. They rarely use bisaya here in Manila since not a lot would understand lol but I guess you'll be fine.

6. How easy is it to make friends .___.

College is really different from high school cause people would either be too busy/indifferent for them to care about your looks or whatever. You can just approach anyone and befriend them. Just don't act bitchy in the first place ☺

7. If you buy a car, how do you make payments?

You have to talk to the dealer if you want to pay in full or installments through cash/credit card. Paying full in cash would sometimes give you some kind of a discount.

8. Do you get roommates in college? Does college provide dorms? Should I get a roommate?

There are schools that provide dorms but most of the time you can just get a condo/apartment near your school. Near as in like in front of your school. People usually get roommates for them not to spend much by splitting the bill (water/electricity/rent).

9. Are you required to go to church?

No. Even if it's a Catholic school they wouldn't force you to go to Eucharistic celebrations. It's different though when it comes to religion centered subjects. That one you have to take whether you're Catholic or not. But don't worry it's not like they're going to kill you if your beliefs does not coincide with them.

10. What's your schedules like?

You plan out your schedule so that really depends. You enroll for classes that you need and most of the time they have different time slots so you just have to find the best sched for you. The school provides a flowchart you may or may not follow. It's basically a rundown of the subjects you have to take and when (which sem) to take them. You may follow it or do your own tactics when it comes to taking general education classes and majors.

11. In Davao, is there a curfew? :/

I'm not sure? But I think the whole country has a curfew (lol omg gotta read the news). It's mostly to prevent loitering kids. Just be ready with your id that has your birthday on it.

12. What's the best cellphone network?

Most people use globe. For me, smart's internet services are better but then you'd have to spend more on load to text those from other networks. Just stick to globe.

13. Are cellphones cheaper in the PH vs the US?

It's cheaper to buy anything in the US.

14. Do college students typically HAVE cars?

No. Commute is life. If you want the hassle of waking up early to avoid traffic and find a parking space then by all means lol and we also have coding like cars with plate numbers ending at certain numbers are not allowed on certain days but there are window times which are I think before 7 AM and after 9 PM. So if you're car's not allowed on that day you have to arrive at your destination by 7 AM and leave after 9 PM. I'm not entirely sure with the schedule but you can look it up if you want ☺

Its safer and better in terms of parking and driving than in Manila. Traffic here can be time-consuming but not as worse as in Manila.

It's easier to make friends in college :) So no worries about that :)

Yes, thru a dealership :) They offer terms and stuff so you can pay thru cash or credit card :)

Most dorms aren't connected to schools, just near them. You can get solo rooms or rooms with roommates :)

Nope!

I got to pick my schedule based on the classes I need to take but I think you'd get block sectioning, so schedules are just usually given.

If you already have one, then no need to get another one here. If it's locked to your network, there are other ways for you to get it unlocked. :)

Some of them do, but most of them just commute coz parking near schools during class hours are the worst. Haha!

yes!! but there are courses that prohibits hair colors (ill just add that in case) like medicine and music. as for make up, no one gives a damn unless it looks v v v heavy. but i guess it still depends on your college school-if they only stick to light/natural makeup or "makeup"-bc catholic.

there are schools that doesnt have uniform while others have so it depends as well :-)

ive never been in davao but according to the news, its not as ugly as metro manila. like, traffic wise i guess. just be wary of jeepneys and tricycles lmao they can be very annoying at times

most universities wont have in-dorms with them (sorry im basing it in metro manila and some provinces;;;) but the nearer you are to the school, there would be a lot of boarding rooms or dorms! if you would like to save money, it might be advisable for you to get a roommate so u could like half the bill

mine starts at 8 am but then i guess its worth it since i end at 2 or 3. and i dont have schools on wednesday hehe but i guess it varies per university or course
